Individual
This one-on-one therapeutic process is specifically catered to each client’s goals. Kate does not approach counseling with a “one size fits all” mentality; instead, she utilizes a variety of therapeutic techniques with flexibility and creativity in mind. She has worked with a variety of clients including those wrestling with depression, anxiety, anger, trauma, abuse, ADHD, low self-esteem, existential crisis, regret, grief, career challenges/direction, and identity formation.
Couples
Whether you are dating, engaged, newly married or married for a long time, it’s not unusual for couples to experience challenges that require professional guidance. With couples counseling, the relationship itself is considered the client. Kate’s goal is to increase intimacy and build trust in order to overcome conflict. She works with couples to build more effective communication skills which will deepen mutual respect and understanding.
Family
Since a family consists of multiple individuals with different personalities and values, conflict can easily arise. In family counseling, Kate works to identify patterns of communication and conflict that contribute to distress in a member of the family or the family system as a whole. She works with the family to find new ways to communicate which honor each member’s individuality alongside the unity of the family as whole.
Adolescent
Adolescence is a challenging developmental stage for both teenagers and families. It is not uncommon for parents to be left baffled and concerned about their child’s behavior. Kate has been working alongside adolescents for a decade. In addition to providing coping and communication skills, she helps teenagers explore and define their identity in a healthy way.
Corporate, Career, & Entrepreneurial Coaching
On top of her MBA in International Business, Kate has training in career counseling. She is excited to work with individuals and companies to define professional goals and combat corporate burnout. She has worked with small businesses and non-profits to come up with strategic plans to achieve their goals. In addition, she has helped entrepreneurs define their personal values and assess risk as they evaluate their vision and growth strategies.
Group
Group counseling is a great alternative to individual counseling. Studies have shown that group counseling is just as effective as individual counseling. It is an opportunity for clients to practice vulnerability, develop relational skills, and heal through the compassion of others walking through similar realities.
